"Truth I Pursue"
Alpha Epsilon Delta is a nationally recognized co-ed health pre-professional honorary society which was founded at the University of Alabama in 1926. The object of AED is to provide members with exposure to various aspects of medicine, stimulate an appreciation of the importance of education in the study of medicine, and promote cooperation, as well as contact, between students and educators. In the process, the organization binds together students with similar interests through participation in activities of benefit to health organizations, charities, and the community.
Arizona Beta Chapter
The Beta chapter was founded at the University of Arizona in 1967, and with roughly 150 active members each semester, we have been one of the most involved organizations on campus ever since. Our main goal is to further the health pre-professional students' education through a variety of means, as well as provide a service to both the University of Arizona and the Tucson community. AED members are given the opportunity to shadow physicians of various specialties, as well as attend meetings to listen to a variety of professionals in the medical field. With over 25 philanthropic events available each semester, members participate in volunteer work throughout the community such as at the University Medical Center, Arizona Cancer Center, Tucson Medical Center, Kino Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, and Shalom House, to name a few. Over 20 social functions also take place each semester which allow members to escape the stress of daily life of an active student. Other advantages provided for members include discounted test preparation materials, course materials, honors graduation cords, workshops, seminars, and other medically related resources for professional school.
