Information 

As mentioned before, there are several advantages to joining our organization:

  • Serve your community through volunteer events
  • Other resource materials to aid you with your career path

Our chapter accepts new pledges at the beginning of each semester and chooses its members based on a competitive application process.  Character, general ability, and personality are considered carefully in the selection of every member. Members shall be elected without any discrimination on the basis of race, sex, religion, creed or national origin.  If you are interested in joining, you must first complete the application form found below.  If you are accepted as a pledge, you will remain one for one whole year and must fulfill the following requirements:   

  • $60.00 per year in dues
  • Attendance in 5 general meetings per semester
  • 4 philanthropy hours per semester
  • 4 social hours per semester
  • 3 pledge events first semester
  • 2 fundraisers per semester
  • Participate in Big/Lil program
  • Attend banquet for initiation
  • Complete a Kaplan event either as a pledge one or pledge two
  • Attend Princeton Review Kickstart (counts as a meeting)

Once you become a member, you must still remain active and fulfill the following requirements:  

  • $30.00 per year in dues
  • Attendance in 2 general meetings per semester
  • 4 philanthropy hours per semester
  • 4 social hours per semester
  • 1 fundraiser per semester
  • Participate in Big/Lil program

Additionally, all members must retain a 3.20 cumulative GPA on a 4.00 scale in order to move from pledge to member status.  Contact AED_VP@Yahoo.com for any further questions or concerns.



Timeline


If you are interested in joining, here is a general outline of things to come:

  • First meeting: February 9th, 2010, 5:00pm (location TBA)
  • Welcome Back BBQ: February 12th, 2010, 4:00pm
    (Himmel Park at 2nd street and Tucson blvd.)
  • Application Deadline: February 15th, 2010 at 10:00 PM
  • Pledge Social Mixer: February 19th, 2010 at 7:00 PM
    (log into OrgSync for location details) *attendance required*
  • Final Decision Letters: February 22nd, 2010 
    (pick up letters from ASUA office at third floor of SUMC)
